Please note that the illustration above depicts the Hot Tap or Corp. Stop requirements, and the 3.4" long "sensing region" can be retracted within the 7.0" long tube shown below the Ball Valve in the image. Some customers prefer to use their own Ball Valve from the Hot Tap or Corp. Stop rig that drilled into the "live" pipe. It is crucial to highlight that the sensing point only needs to be inserted 1/8th of the diameter into the flowing stream, preferably from the side instead of the top or bottom, as the latter can lead to buildup.
