Introducing the cutting-edge Tactical Flow Meter with a power fail tolerant datalog storage system, which sets it apart from traditional "SD Card" file storage and management systems. This innovative technology offers a significant upgrade to the conventional approach, ensuring seamless data management and storage even in the event of power failures.
Although our data storage system and a typical SD Card both utilize flash storage technology, our approach is unique. We concatenate each event or data at the end of the file using a simple pointer system. The pointers are stored in EEPROM, and the data is stored sequentially after the last event. This method ensures efficient use of storage space and makes it easier to access individual events or data points.
In a typical "SD Card" system, a sudden power outage during a storage event could result in the loss of the entire file. However, our storage system is designed to handle power outages during the writing process with minimal data loss. In the event of a power outage during the middle of an event write, at most, only that specific event may become corrupted. This provides a higher level of reliability and data integrity, ensuring that your information remains secure and accessible even in unexpected circumstances.
SD Card technology is prone to losing entire files, but the Tactical Flow Meter datalog storage system provides a unique advantage by only losing a single event in such instances.
